A big thank you to everyone especially was plain ann now annielaurie for her suggestion about obtaining birth cert. Unfortunatley I couldn't find any entry for my gg grandmother but found her sister and have just received the cert. this morning which gives me all the information I need to research this family further. |

Sorry have taken so long in getting back. Can't find my gg grandmother's birth registered in Scotland, but will try the other siblings. Heather, his wife was from Scotland. and his first son was born Ireland but will try and find the ones in England |

Please could anyone tell me how to search the National Archives. I am looking for my GGG grandfather who was a policeman on the 1861 census but when he died in 1866 his occupation was chelsea pensioner. I don't know what regiment he was in nor when. My gg.grandmother was born in Scotland in 1852 so am assuming he was there then. He could have been in the Crimean war which I understand was about 1856-58. Do the NA give details of pensioners, I don't seem to be able to work round their site. Any help would be appreciated. |
