I would think it was Machine Gun Corps-If you go to National Archives and look in Documents online on Medal cards of WW1 ,with his name it might give more detail |

National archives Documents on line has Dennis Hoban Machine Gun Corps Regimental number 28964 -Rank Private on it's war medel list -you can get a copy for £2 |
