Have you looked on the CWGC site? You might find enough detail on there to save you ordering the death cert. |

Ordering military death certificates doesn't need the same information as for normal death certificates. If you got the death details from Findmypast website then the details they give are all that the GRO need. They shouldn't need the qtr. |

I've just checked the GRO website again and you only need the name, year and GRO reference to order an overseas death certificate - not the qtr. |

Hilary - if you are definitely looking for an ALFRED FRANCIS who died in the British Army (rather than the Navy or RAF etc or the force of another allied country ) and the Suffolk Reg one isn't your man - the only other one from the original GRO WAR DEATHS ARMY OTHER RANKS (1939 to 1948) - on FMP - is |
