Reading Register Office.

Hello Margaret, I presume that the Reading registry office will only provide certificates for births, marriages or deaths that have been registered in that district. I have previously contacted the local registry offices for certs as I find them quicker than the GRO. However this is the first time I have had this kind of service. For instance the Winchester Registry Office will only deal with this type of enquiry by post. |

Lainey that is very good service does Reading office deal with all of Berkshire, the only time I did send them an email was when I was looking for a peice in a newspaper the were very good then and sent me the peice within a couple of days. |

Just wanted to share this info with others as I was so pleased with the service. I rang Reading Register Office today to request a copy of a marriage certificate. I was able to place the order over the phone and pay by card. The person I spoke to was very helpful and said she would post the same day or 1st thing in the morning. What great service! I am so looking forward to the post arriving now. |
