Thanks Shirley, I am just getting the hang of these records and I could not decipher the codes on the bottom. I have already ordered a death certificate so will try ordering a marriage certificate. |

Look on Freebmd and get the GRO ref and then order online from www.gro.gov.uk. You have to register FREE and then go through the order form .remember to tick the box on the first page of the order that the GRO is known, then all you need is type of cert ie marriage .one of the parties name and then GRO ref .Cost £7 by debit or credit card. |

I have a marriage in Penge Kent 1864. How do I go about getting a copy of the certificate? I only have the date names and church. I have not had any luck with Seaman's orphanage, only lots of pictures, No listings. |
