I have a child who is not named when his birth was registered, he was baptised 3 days later and died the following day. When his death was registered his name wasn't entered just the word male instead of his first name. I don't understand why his first name wasn't on the death certificate. I know it's the same child as I have both certificates and have seen the parish register. |

Can anyone please tell me why a baby would not have a name on registration but does have a name by the time they marry. This is in 1843 and thanks to a member who pushed me in the right direction I now have the cert of birth. Would he have been given a name at baptism and if so how can I find out? His parents were married at registration. |
