This is probably the wrong place to put this query, but can anyone tell me how to change the name of my tree ? I've just uploaded a new gedcom, and it's altered the name of my tree, Can anyone tell me if it's possible to change it without having to re-import the file ??? |

Report the problem to Genes.I think that they are the only people that can fix it easily. |

Many thanks, Jim ! I'll try deleting and uploading again, and - if that doesn't solve the problem - contact Genes. |

I had same problem, GR seems to assume that whoever has a RIN of 1 in your gedcom is the root, I had to delete my tree (which leaves one person) change the name of that one person then change my gedcom so I was RIN1 then upload, talk about a pain the A***, Its about time GR let you change your root, Cant be that hard every other site lets you. |

Uploading again didn't work, so I'll try deleting again, then reload. By the way, what is RIN ?????? |

an RIN is a Record Identification Number, when you build a tree eveyone in the tree is Automatically given an RIN whoever you put in your tree first will have an RIN of 1, most tree progs will let you see the RIN in the name index, some progs will let you renumber people. |

Me too - genes changed the root person on my tree when I uploaded a gedcom. I checked my file and I am the root person according to my software. The person they chose does not have the number 1 or the designation root person - just someone random. |

Just checked again - the person they picked for the start person in number 1624. How does one predict that??? |
