Yes, I think so. My great-great grandad died in Lancaster Lunatic Asylum and his death was registered in that district, even though his wife and daughter were living near Ormskirk at the time. |

Thanks everyone for looking and offering suggestions - none of the Death records relate to GGrandad George Bibby (a very common name and surname around Lancashire) as far as I can tell, mainly ruled out on age - Rose is right his wife Ann was not described as a widow on 1901 census, so presume he was alive then, but I've not accessed 1911 census yet |

Perhaps they separated? This one is married and the occupation fits. |

She's still listed as married in 1901. |

There is this death on the Lancashire BMD site - age is a bit out but it depends who the informant was and how accurate their details were. |

My ggrandad George Bibby, born 1844-8 (depending on which census you inspect) married Annie Harlow in approx 1868 and presumably was resident with her until 1882 when youngest child Jane was born but by 1891 Census, at 82 Standish st Chorley Lancs no longer resident but his wife was not detailed as a widow - I've searched every George Bibby death since 1882 but to no avail - what could have happened to him - any suggestions please, |
