I have never heard of Tony Robinson.

I did suggest that the Alzheimer's society send a copy of all their messages to Gordon Brown so that he could view the real state of the problem, but he hasn't thanked me as yet.

As mentioned on another thread. Try Firefox with Adblock-plus. No Tony Robinson.....!

Incidentally the new census search is far better than the old one. I particularly like the idea of being able to select 'exact' ,or not, on individual fields. Make life far easier.

I use internet explorer

and I use the old search on ancestry, don't like the new facility

and I do not see Tony Robinson

in fact, I have to say, I don't even know who he is, being as I live in a "foreign" land!

I use ad blocker from Norton Security

Tina, I to use the old search on Ancestry and like Grumpy, do not see him. I also use Firefox, but as far as I am aware do not have a plug-in to block him. I do hhave ad-aware, but it is disabled as most sites you cannot see some of the click buttons if you have it enabled.

Ah, Grumpy, no wonder everything you type goes straight to Gordon Brown if you are using internet explorer. I don't trust it one little bit - too many nasties come that way. I prefer Firefox, but perhaps that is why I have to put up with Tony. I will do a wee experiment using internet explorer to just see what happens, then again, since I know I shall revert back to Firefox whatever the result, maybe I shall just have to learn to live with it.

Am off now to see if I can find any plug-ins for the latest Firefox which might get rid of this irritating little man!

hate to dissapoint you but i am using the old search system?

everything you type a copy is given to gordon brown and his cronies they must be drowning in paper but really they look every where for trigger words but they haven't worked it out yet people doing naughty things don't use them words. they would be better off locking up tony robinson, (can i say that on here)

on my computor i am using lots of programmes to stop spyware and viruses and i use internet explorer pro which has an adblocker built in, its free, don't know if that helps, it may be doing nothing?

Grumpy - you have got me worried now. What do you know about me that you are not telling?

However, I may have worked out the problem. I am using the old search facility (which I much prefer to the new one). I have tried the new search (yuk!) and Tony does not seem to be there. So I can only presume that Ancestry, in their infinite wisdom, have decided the "persuade" us non-believers to switch to the new search by driving us mad. Those whom the gods wish to destroy etc.

Still think I will take my chances with Tony. Don't like the new search - it seems to assume that you know nothing and are never likely to!

Tina (also rather grumpy today)

How very strange. Is it just me and Eric the Red who are being targeted? Whatever page I look at (except the actual original records) he pops up on the right hand side and gesticulates!

Now I feel really, really got at!

Much as I like Tony Robinson, he is beginning to bug me popping up on Ancestry and pulling faces at me while I am searching for someone who is trying very, very hard not to be found. I already have Adblock Plus and a pop-up stopper, but it ain't stopping our Tony.

Can anyone make any suggestions, please.
