No, I meant any other info. Maybe her (Nellie's) place of birth might narrow down her birth reg, and also if the mother died shortly after birth the area could well help confirm and tie everything together.

My mums elder sister was reg Ellen but known as Nell and Nelly

Hi Rob yes I suppose that it could possibly be her but she does not seem to be on the 1901 census but Shirley that is her on the 1901 census so I do not really know the answer I know she is not with Robert Snaith in 1901 census he was a widower like her a widow thank you

I see the marriage is in Bethnal Green. There is a Mary Ann E (poss ellen or Eleanor) Snaith for Bethnal Green Dec qtr 1898 and an Ellen Snaith for Hackney (not too far way), same quarter.
There are other possibles, but these two seem favourites, based on the info you have given.

thank you for answers I am not sure about the surname as Robert Snaith married Cecila Garnham June 1901 bothe second marriages and looking at the 1911 census yesterday I see there is a Nelly Snaith down as a daughter but it says she is 12 so her her surname could have been Garnham thank you

it is a name in its own right but is often the name used for Ellen and sometimes known as nell or nellie
The surname you quote is quite distinctive so a blanket search on FreeBMD on the surname and year span should find her
