I wonder if anyone can help? Apart from visiting Kew (250 miles away!) is there any way of finding out if family rumours are true that two of my ancesters were mentioned in despatches. |

Go to gazettes-online .co.uk-the London gazette archive is indexed and you can search by name for those mentioned in dispatches-Best of luck |

Many thanks for the suggestions. I have looked on London Gazette but can't find anything. I do have the added problem that the name "Youd" seems to look for any words with "you" and "d" which, as you can imagine, elongates my search results somewhat! |
