Hi, yes you can import a GEDCOM, you can do this by exporting you tree from the bottom of this page, it then sends the file to your registered email address and you can then save and import it onto Family Tree Maker. I bought our's from My History, you can pay online as well. Their website is: |

The only thing is, on the FTM there are areas for different ref material which GR doesnt have, so you can fiddle around adding a lot more stuff. |

I've just come across this and I'm grateful too as I'm waiting for FTM to be delivered! I did download some free software that didn't cut the mustard and spent some time manually transferring the data. I asked the software support if I could transfer from a website but never got an answer. |

It is very easy to transfer your tree from GR to FTM I was nervous when I did it first time. When I ask GR to export my file I get it almost straight away. Just save the attached file they send you and then choose to open it in FTM. All the information is copied into FTM so you do not have to type it again. |

Scroll to the bottom of your GR page and click on the import/export tab, then export. |

Yes, you can create a gedcom and transfer it to FTM (but don't ask me how because I've never moved my information around, lol). |
