Did anyone hear Robert Hardy read this poem on Songs of Praise last Sunday? |

I was brought up to respect the silence, to honour those whose sacrifice gave us the chance of freedom. |

I used to work in Lloyds of London and it was a very busy noisey place but every year they observed the 2 mins silence when everything stopped and a bugle player played the last post. It moved me to tears every year. |

The Call Centre I manage will close at 10.59 to ensure all staff can observe the 2 minute silence. Callers will get a message telling them the centre is closed to enable the silence to be observed. |

Please can i ask all to observe the 2 minutes silence today. Most of us will have at least 1 ancestor that this affects, Too many people seem to think this is pointless. Personally I think it is important. |
