Just found what could have been one of my great granfathers only to find he is the only one.No brides name.Usually 4 names two of each.Would that mean his brides name was unreadable?I am new to this.Jay

Probably means that the other names haven't been transcribed yet.

Check the image and verify the page number is correct. Is it the one in Greenwich?

I think it should be 560a which means he married Phoebe Hodgman.

I agree with Portland Rose that the bride is Phoebe looking at the images both William and Phoebes names are later additions to the list of names on the register.

Mary

Just noticed something odd there appears to be two different index numbers for their wedding Greenwich 1d 560a 1st quarter and Greenwich 1d 773 2nd quarter

Alternatively, it could mean that her page # was misread (or unreadable) - try looking at the entire rego district for marrs in that quarter. Probably best to just check Mary Ann's first, and see if they're the 5th name on a page, or their page isn't readable - check this against the image.

Daughter Mary Matilda is on the IGI:

MARY MATILDA LAWRENCE
Birth: 07 JAN 1860
Christening: 05 FEB 1860 Saint Paul, Deptford, Kent, England
Father: WILLIAM HENRY LAWRENCE
Mother: MARY ANN

That's definitely the right family, as on the 1871 census William has the middle initial H and his daughter Mary has the middle name Matilda. I think Rose is right - you should get Mary Matilda's birth cert in order to ascertain her mother's maiden name.
