it does seem rather old to have a first child but i`m certain that it`s the correct archie. It`s possible that he was being looked after by an aunt with the same name or even incorrect info on census. |

Where have you searched for Isabella's birth? You won't find it on freebmd or the bmd index on Ancestry as those only cover England and Wales. |

From the 1891, John was also born in Wick; the children were all born in London. |

There are no Isabella Wylie/Wyllie births in Caithness in that time span (did 1855-65) Picked that one out because of the middle name. |

If the marriage Julie found is correct, there's a married John Dunlop on his own in lodgings in Pembroke in the 1881 - an engine fitter but born Ayr, Scotland. |

Thanks guys, They all seem plausible but it`s going to take some cross referencing to be sure. Guess I will have to find the closest and take a gamble on ordering a certificate. Could turn out quite expensive. Archie was born in West Ham and the 1901 lists an Archie and Isabella boarding with a family called Essex in West Ham. I`m pretty sure these are correct but need a birth cert for Isabella and John. Also know that Archies middle name is Sliman which is odd for a middle name i am wondering if that might be his mothers maiden name because Wylie was my grans middle name carried over from Isabella b 1860ish. |

This is the 1901 census for Isabel. Don't worry about the Isabel /Isabella thing, these names constantly change. It can even be Elizabeth. |
