Thanks all - yes I can access the census so I'll try that first. They married in 1898 and my grandfather was born in 1910 so my guess is that there would have been siblings born before him. |

The 1901 would be a good place to start, you may find they have 2 or 3 children by then, otherwise yes the only way to find children after 1901 is to search through the birth records, if they have an uncommon surname it will be easier. Do you have them with their parents before their marriage,? as children often name their own children after parents, and mothers maiden name etc....,may help you narrow down the search. Can you access the census? if not put up some names and someone on here will help you. |

Depending on how common the surname is, you could 'guess' at likely births, using reasonable spacing of time in the area where they lived in 1901, but it will only be a guess unless you verify with certificates. |

I would like to trace siblings of my grandfather and I'm not sure of the best way to go about it. Do I just work forwards from the date of the wedding of his parents and check all birth records in that area? Their wedding was in 1898 so apart from 1901 census I can't check that way. |
