I also found a relative on the cwgc site who was enlisted during WW2 but never actually saw any active service as he was diagnosed with cancer just before he was about to leave England. He died after the end of the war, but he is still on there and the War Graves Commission maintains his grave. |

Thanks for all the information. I have contacted the CWGC as I do have a possible relatives name that has appeared on a war memorial in Bolsover, I believe it to be a WW2 memorial. I looked on the CWGC web site and did a search but were unable to find the name I had. |

there are civilian war dead on the CWGC site for WW2 if they died through enemy action |

Was he military or civillian war dead - if he was a civillian then he wont be on CWGC be he may well be on a local war memorial as some did list the civillians who dies as the result of enemy action. If you post more details there are plenty of people who will try and help |

Not sure if this is the right forum, sorry, anyway I have a relative who died in WW2 I have a photo of his name on the war memorial, however when I search, there does not appear to be any record, where can I go from here. |
