Thanks Christina, I do have a few possible births for John but I'm unable to confirm which one and I don't know how I can get round this one!!! |

Just a possibility, but there's a Jane Arnold (aged 70) on the 1841 census, living in Spitalfields. |

There's a possible for John on the IGI. Born 1804, christened 1807 at Spitalfields. Parents Samuel and Jane. |

Hello Linda, Did you know that there is another St. Leonard's Church? My g.grandparents married in 1897 and the certificate states The Parish Church, parish of Bromely St.Leonard, County of London. It is in the area of Poplar/Bow. As my g.grandparents were living in Bethnal Green at the time, this might be relevant as you state that your ancestor John was born in that area. Pam |

Hi Linda, Who is the child you're following back from? Is it John? Do you know he was born in Bethnal Green? I couldn't see him on the 1851 census, but I saw a John born in Shoreditch. Could this be him? There is no St.Leonard's Church in Spitalfields, but there is one in Shoreditch. I think John and Mary Allington must have got married there. |
