I wish mine had done that. I inherited a box full of photo's with no details and so far have not been able to find any one that knows who most of the people are. |

When my mother died I inherited a briefcase full of goodies as she did most of the research before a PC was thought of. I have only ever used Family Tree Maker. I don't know any other system. It seems very simple to me... I just look at it as one big tree. If I want decendants lines etc I just click on options. I dont know how legacy works so I cant compare it with FTM |

I would fork out less than £3 (plus postage) and buy Family Tree Maker 2006 from Amazon. As Rallyreg says the 2008 should be avoided. I have my tree on FTM 2006 and when I get time update it on here and that takes just a few minutes a week. It does have advantages, you can record much more detail on FTM that will help you in the long run. Well thats my opinion and a system I have since starting. |

You can only hold one tree on this site unless you join twice under two different names and of course pay two membership fees. |
