I'm trying to trace two Dixie families that emigrated to Australia probably in the early sixties from London. One was Leonard and Greta Dixie the other Fred and partner. Any information on either of these families would be very welcome as I'm trying to produce a family tree and have hit a brick wall. |

Carol, The National Archives of Aus (on-line) shows this: Dixie: Frederick Ronald b25/10/1923 & Maria Irene (nee Vanderbergin) b20/12/1923 - Frank Ronald b 29/5/51 Franchesca Gabriella b30/10/59. Departed UK 11/5/1962 'Strathmore'. ............ Sadly...... the 'Ryerson Index' on-ine shows Frederick Ronald Dixie d 20/6/2003 -death notice in 'Canberra Times' 26/6/2003. .............. Ryerson's do (free) 'look-up's from the newspaper -for family names etc. ..........The 'National Library of Australia ' (Canberra) has an 'Ask a Librarian' service (on-line) they will check electoral rolls for 'Maria Irene' & 'Frank Ronald'. .........Valerie |
