Margaret, as far as I am aware, it was the responsibility of the Captain to take the census and hand in as soon as docked. |

It also covers people on ships in dock at the time of the census. Never found out what happens to people on ships in transit. Anybody any idea? |

On Ancestry you have to specifically click on 1901 Scotland Census, or 1901 Wales Census before you enter your search details. |

Covers Scotland and Wales as well. Images are not available for Scotland unless you go to scotlandspeople, though the transcriptions are available on Ancestry for Scotland. |

Hi can anyone enlighten me, does the census just cover England or does it cover Scotland as well? |
