Family mystery - any ideas?

OH's great great grandmother was in service with an aristocratic family, but came home pregnant. The story is that it was her employer what done the deed, so to speak, and that the family paid her off. |

We have a similar story in our family with my grandmother getting pregnant whilst in service in a "big hall". Apparently my grandmother's mother would not let her marry her employer's son as it would be "above her station". |

I've no idea how it works, but if it's practical then DNA testing would be proof one way or the other wouldn't it? |

hello all i' the same situation, my gggrandmother worked for a well to do family in redruth and she ended up with a baby,i looked in the census where she worked and found the name of the master but i darnt delve any further |

This is amazing! I have the same thing in my family. My gt, grandmother was the daughter of a servant in an aristocratic family. I always like to think it was visiting royalty whodunnit and I have royal blood in my veins. |
