Elizabeth, I've had the most luck with Ontario Genealogy sites, but British Columbia isn't too far behind. You may be able to find information about the family by googling their full names (especially if the surname isn't a common one). |

I live in British Columbia (BC) and you don't want a death certificate, you want the actual death registration itself. These contain a lot of information including: names of parents (including maiden name of mother), length of time person was in Canada, in BC, in the town where he/she died, name and address and relationship of informant, address of person who died, birthdate, names of spouses (including maiden names of women), cause of death, etc. etc. These can be obtained on-line at a cost of $20 (last time I got one) and are free to view and copy at many libraries in BC. Can anyone tell me how much information is included in Death Certificates from British Columbia, Canada? |
