Advice on Missionary's 1800's please

Can anyone advice me as to how I can find out who did 'Missionary' work in Africa in the late 1800's. We have a story that one of our great Uncles, either in the Weymms or Allan family from Bervie in Scotland was a missionary. We have the engraved ivory horn and only a vague story. We also presume it may be the Church of Scotland that this person worked for. Any advice would be brilliant. |
