	Alan, I would by pass Birmingham..as there is so many districts,,,as not all Birmingham are with the Birmingham City Register Office,,,,as there have been 2 boundry changes since 1946 and some Birmingham records maybe held in a local register office..... I would go direct to GRO at Southport,where all copies are held
