Just had a look on the Lancashire Online Parish Clerk website - there are some 18th century marriages mentioned and a couple of Gorings who may be of interest: |

Just wondering - the parish records may well be at Preston records office. I know Ribchester is quite near Preston but Manchester is a good distance from either place for that time (not that it would be impossible if you really wanted to travel, I suppose). |

On a Robert Gorings birth details it reads That his father, also named Robert was born in Gorton. |

If you haven't found his birth record how do you know where he was born? There were no certificates then and babies weren't always baptised in their birth parishes. |
