Then you look at the ship's manifest etc etc


You only have to pay if you want to get a copy of the manifest.


The Frank Lang you found is going to Montreal where he is allegedly joining his wife, and it says he was born in Roumania.


There is also another Frank Lang, born in 1879, but this one says he is an American citizen born in New York City, and is travelling from Bermuda in 1913.

His wifes name was Elizabeth remage Bunyan (Francis's wife)

So when did he leave? c1914?

On his sons marriage cerificate he had his fathers name as Francis William Lang
But on his birth certificate it is just Francis
There is a possibility that they just maybe did not know ere he was so they said that he was dead.
I searched through records untill 1938 but did not find any that matched.
On his wife's death certificate Elizabeth she died in 1968 she is listed as widow of Francis Lang.
Like I say that as much as we know.

This is the only death that matches the birth year:

Francis J Lang abt 1882
1925 Oct-Nov-Dec Islington Greater London, London, Middlesex

Could he have served in WW1? There are a few WW1 records in this name on Ancestry (including the Francis J Lang (above).

There are between 1913 and 1937,,7 death matches for ...........Francis Lang,,,,,,

Perhaps he wasnt dead in 1937 the mother may have told him that as he grew up it was easy to say after being deserted,,,

We have her certificate and on her death she is listed as widow of Francis Lang

As far as we are aware I do not believe that he was in WW1
We have been in contact with Francis's nephew and they never even knew that he had married.
There was supposed to be an argument and they lost all contact with him.
And acording to the great neice of his son. he left his wife and son after an argument and nothing more was known about his.
So it is very mysterious

Is there anyone out there that can help me.
I have been trying for a very long time to trace mainly a death for my hubbies Grandfather. He was called Francis Lang and was born 1880 in Weeslade Northumberland he married in 1909 I have the certificate.
His only son was born 1913
Now my problem is that from his son been born and untill his son married in 1937 (his father is listed as deceased) I have no idea how they knew he had died and now there is no one left that knows anything at all.
I just cannot find out what happened to him and I am at a loss were to look.
I have searched through the St Catherines index at the library but found nothing.
I did find a Frank Lang on an Ellis Island site that arrived there on a ship called the Olympic on the 20 Dec 1922 I have no idea how to find out if this may be the one that I am searching for.
I do not have access to a credit card so I am unable to get the record to see if it can throw up any information. so thats out.
So can anyone come up with some suggestions that I could try.
