I was in the Merchant Navy (many moons ago) as a Marine Engineer and think this method of numbers could be his rank, ie; 3rd Engineering Officer (as I was) out of 10 Engineers in all. |

My G Grandfathers occupation is listed as 'Marine Engineer 0 10/3' .. the last 3 digits are shown as 10 over 3 fraction style. Can anybody tell me what these figures refer to if anything ? |
