Are still births ever recorded?

My Grandmother (passed long ago) always said that she had two sets of twins, but in each case one of the twins died. I have the birth certificates of what would have been the 'surviving' twin in each case, but there is nothing on them to suggest that they were one of twins. |

The register of stillbirths started in 1927 when it became law to register such a birth, before that time unfortunately it did not have to be recorded. |

I believe a stillbirth certificate had to be produced to the cemetery so the child could be buried, even before 1927. |

Thank you to all of you, I don't think I'm going to have much luck. |
