What I do is tick save to my computer then choose desktop as the place to save. I can then decide to make a folder and or put it where I want. |

The trouble is Gordon that with Vista you do not get a choice as to where it is originally saved it just puts it in a special 'virtualised' place in the temporary internet files!!! |

Make folder on desktop to put them in, Highlight what you want to save, press Ctrl and C keys, then minimize your page, double click on your folder, when folder opens, press Ctrl and V keys and it will drop into your folder. |

I have folders for the different types of image i'm saving (census, military, phone book listing etc), when i choose the "save to my computer" option on ancestry i just select the relevant folder from "my documents" and it saves it directly to the selected folder . |

Well Glen - Many thanks but it doesn't work that way for me I am afraid! I DO select the folder I want from 'my documents' but it just puts them in the other place. |
