Hi everyone,

I wondered if anyone had access to the above, as I am trying to trace an Yvonne Willebeck Le Mair, she was born Yvonne Joan Moody in London in 1923 and married a man with the above surname, they then went to New York. Any help would be appreciated as the surname is so unusual I am having difficulty finding it in Passenger Lists etc.

Thanks again.

Lesley

The address prior to sailing was 96 Park Hill Birmingham.

Ian is aged 4. so presumably her son.

Looks as if her husband must have travelled separately.......possibly ahead of her and the child.

It would be a good idea to obtain her marriage cert to get the christian name of her husband.

Looks like the surname is Willebeek-Lemair. Ian's birth is under the Sep qtr 1946.

There are some old addresses for Arizona for Ian and Yvonne. I'll try and find something current.

Hi Sue,

Thanks you so much for your help, I think this must be the right one as her parents were living in Birmingham at the time.

I had looked myself at the passenger lists but must admit some of you seem to be much better than me.

I am now going to send for the marriage and birth certificates.

Once again thanks a lot.

I haven't been able to find a marriage under the name Willebeek-Le Mair for 1944 - 47 inclusive.

It also seems strange that both times she has been sited travelling to the USA, she only has her son with her.

As Ian would have been conceived towards the end of the war, I wonder whether his father was an American serviceman and had already gone back to the States and although she declared him as the father of Ian, and used his surname, she wasn't actually married to him at the time.

Ian's birth cert should certainly help to throw a bit of light on things.

Hi Portland Rose,

I will but it will not be for a couple of months as I am off to Spain tomorrow until the end of June so although I am on the Internet there the cert will be sitting at home unopened, didn't time this very well.
