For all I know there might be a quicker way, Nicky. I have never had any computer lessons, I try things for myself and that is what I did and it seemed to work, so didnt try anything else. I must see if I can find a quicker way. When I am not busy on GR.

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for all your messages and tips, its just when I receive say a funny e-mail from someone and I then want to forward it to my friends I often find there are about 20 e-mail addresses on this e-mail I received.
If I just click on forward or send to someone else all these addresses are also forwarded with the e-mail and thats how we all get so much spam mail.
I don't want e-mails with advertisements for Viagra and allsorts which I receive every day.
I will now use bcc as you say but just wish the people who send them onto their friends would do the same.

I presume you mean you want to hide the addies that the previous person has put on the email you receive?
If you want to hide the addies of the ones to which you are sending, you hit BCC (blind carbon copy) before putting the addies in, I think.

When I have hit the forward button I then delete all the previous addresses from the email which is there before putting the new addies into the addy bar and hitting the send button. A bit of a drag, but it seems to work.
I can also add my own message to it before hitting the send button.

So can someone please explain to me {idiot guide ...step by step} how do I forward jokes by email to say 10 friends without showing all the email addresses, I am on windows XP. I frequently forward jokes but do not know how to hide all the email addys, and often the ones I receive , have been forwarded loads of times so include many addys.....please advise.

Hi Margret,

I don't know of anyway of stopping your e-mail address being shown when you send an e-mail, I just wanted to stop other people's e-mail addresses being shown when I forwarded an e-mail to someone else.

I'm still trying to understand the reason why someone wouldn't want their own email address showing on an email that they receive.
There must be a reason but I don't know what it would have to do with spam.
I could understand if you were sending copies to a lot of people, then they would see her address.

I just wish my friends would use bcc when sending jokes etc to all their friends and rellies and uncle tom cobley and all. Not that I have had any emails from the other people on the list, but how long before some stranger does contact me? Not that I would open it.
If I want to forward such emails to other people I go to a lot of trouble to remove the list of names, just hope it works.

Have just used hotmail to send a bcc mail to myself at the same hotmail address and it worked - I always use bcc.

Can you send one to yourself if you have only one email addy? I have 2 so can send one to the other addy, in fact I have done so on occasions.

No Gary,

It doesn't work if you just use one e-mail address anyway. Maybe someone will know of a way and get back to me on it..

Hi Gary,

I just want to send an e-mail to one person, a friend but she has been receiving a lot of Spam mail and asked if I could sent a message without showing her full address.
I thought cc and bcc was only if you were sending e-mails to more than one e-mail address.

send an e-mail to someone without showing their full e-mail address for others to view. I am on Vista now and can't work out how to do it.
