Marriage Certificates in England/Wales are always given over the the solicitor, in divorce cases,,,,,,,,,

I got a copy of a divorce this week and among the documents was a copy of their marriage certificate .
I had already paid for this certificate .
Not sure if this is common practice but might be better to get divorce docs before ordering certificate .
