Thanks for the update Tracy,
I have found birth certifacates for the children William Bennet, Robert, John & Janet but could not find one for George also no trace of a marrige certifcate for John & Jessey I tried all combinations for jessey as on the childerns certificates the spelling was diffrent one had Janet Charters another Jessie Charters another jessie chalmers but they all had john Common plumber I have also been unable to find birth regestrations for both John & Jessey they would have been helpfull in identifing both of their parents thus helping to find out the correct spelling for jessey.

Thank you for the quick reply tracy the John Common I have was a plumber and he did have a son also named John who was born in 1856. The spelling of his spouses name also matches The son John married a Euphamia Napier Wilson who was born in Victoria Australia at 24Queen st Lieth Edinburgh on the 17 September 1879. I also did not know about the rest of his children it will now give more relations to find out about.
