hi Reggie,
I don't think that can be her death, as she has signed the will on the date above.
thanks

Isn't that her death in 1845?

The date of December 1845 could have been when the Will was 'proved'............

hi there folks,
Just checked my records and Hannah Driffill marries John Parkin 1805. Her will is dated 11th Decemeber 1845, so she could be on the next census, is there anyone out there who can have a look for me for Hannah Parkin, Burton Stather on the 1851 census please. Also Margaret, could you let me have a list of the remaining children, as i don't have that. Also it could be that Driffield was changed to Driffill if you pronounce it wrong it could sound like driffill, depending if they could write, so Ann and Ralf could be her parents, as she calls one of her children Ralf. Thanks for all your help out there folks.
Take care

hi there folks,
thanks for doing this for me. I need to go back to my paperwork and found out whats gone on. The hannah married to a william Mumby, i have been in contact with, so i know its not her. My Hannah married in the waterways and shipping, they were quite wealthy. I have read the will and it does mention Driffill and not Driffield, but it could all turn out to be wrong, so need to look something up. I am going to check one or two places for the information. Many thanks everyone.
take care

Didn't you check the IGI?

Could this be your Hannah?

HANNAH DRIFFIELD

Birth:

There is also one baptised 1779, but the Ancestral File gives her husband as William Mumby

I would assume that it's just a mistake on that marriage entry and it should read Parkin not Parkinson.

There are 8 children of Jonathon & Hannah on BVRI born between 1806-1824 in Buton on Stather. Do you have them?

hi there,
I suppose that the Jonathan Parkin i need could have had a different name for Hannah's maiden name, but on Hannah's will it is signed by a Driffill at the bottom. which makes sense that her maiden name is driffill, still can't find what is wrong here, makes my head spin lol.
thanks margaret.

This marriage is from BVRI, he's Parkinson instead of Parkin:

hi there, folks,
Sorry for dealy in getting back to your lovely people. I have just about met myself coming backwards the last three days, so i am now having some time out and checking all my emails. Hannah parkin was called Driffill according to records, or so i thought, because i have checked someone elses tree and he also has a hannah parkin burton stather, married to someone else, can't beleive that 2 Hannah Driffill in same small village as everyone. Ralf was a Marlin, unusual name, have seen his grave stone in the cemetary opposite Burringham. So it is the same family, just confused at the moment with Driffill in the same village and about the same age too.
Thanks if anyone has anything else, that would be great. Thank you so much for looking these up for me, its really kind, sorry about spellings today, fingers not hitting right keys.
thanks again.

I live near Scunthorpe, if you wait until Sat I can go to the library where the parish records are on microfiche and have a look for a marriage.
Burton on Stather even today isnt that big. I can also look up neighbouring villages like Thealby, Winterton etc.
If you find out before let me knw.

Familysearch has son George christened 1 Aug.1824, Burton on Stather with parents Jonathon & Hannah.
Also:
Jonathon, 10 June 1813
Jonathon, 1 June, 1817
Ralph Martin Parkin, 19 Mar.1820 (suggest possible mother's maiden name Martin?)
John, 7 April 1815

Is this her death?

That would rule out finding birthplace from 1851..............

You mention husband Jonathon so evidently she has a different maiden name?

MargaretM

MargaretM Report 17 Apr 2008 16:33

I just realized, did you mean Hannah Parkin born Burton on Stather?

ErikaH
