can anyone take a look 1841 census

I have been looking at the 1841 census entry for my 3 times great grandfather john metcalf he lived in lime street in byker newcastle. I can,t understand what the description of his work it says flax but I can,t understand the word after it can anyone take a look

I think it's flax dresser (the old-fashioned ss shown as fs)

Flax dresser, one who breaks and swingles flax, or prepares
it for the spinner.
