I found a baptism which fitted with what I already had
SARAH COLEMAN
Christening: 13 SEP 1761 Potterne, Wiltshire, England
Father: RICHARD COLEMAN

I clicked on the batch number and filled in the fathers name

Result
43 entries from 1682 to 1815

Is there any way of being certain which ones belong to my Richard

Have you also got the mothers name?
Use that as well to filter further.

AH I see it has not got the mothers name.

Have you any other names you know to check for as well to see if there is a mothers name on them?

None of the others have a mothers name listed.
I have found a marriage in 1749 to Ann Edwards

Using those dates, that leaves 10 births between 1749 and 1768

These could be correct, as in previous generations, the women seem to marry young and spend most of their married lives pregnant.

I think my only course is to list these, but add a note that this is my interpretation of the records.
