Hi Jim Athena Paula Margaret and particularly Reggie - I would like to say many thanks to you all for your amazing search abilities. How on earth do you do it? I thought I'd looked everywhere (that I could from Melbourne) but obviously not. Really great stuff and it's spurring me on to more research. Sorry about not getting back within the hour but I didn't realise I would get such terrific responses. Thanks again and I'll try to find, confirm and elaborate on the info provided. Best regards, Ron |

I wonder if anyone knows of a Charles Shadrach Charlton (1806)? I have searched everywhere to find his parents. He was born in Heckfield, Hampshire and married a Maria Hassel (1808) and I have located her parents. CSC is in the 1871 census for Bedminster Bristol as Shadrach Charlton but I can't get any further. He doesn't appear in older 'censii' so far as I can tell. I'm in Melbourne so it's not so easy to search local church records! Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, Ron C. |
