Hi, has anyone come across a marriage cert where the wife to be has been pregnant at the time of marriage? Is the fact that she is pregnant entered onto the marriage cert? I have found a marriage cert where I think this might be the case. The woman in question is noted as a spinster, but in brackets there is some text I cannot read. The part I can read says " ..... of John Taylor". The grooms name is John Taylor so it got me to thinking maybe she was pregnant with his child or something and this was entered onto the marriage cert. The missing word looks like it could be "expecting" which doesnt make sense. It also looks like it could say "cousin..." which would be too wierd!! Any ideas anyone? |

Yes, I guess it would be strange to enter this kind of information onto the cert. The other thing is she is 27 and he is 21 which is interesting. |

It would not be mentioned on the GRO certificate. However, the parish registers may tell a different tale, depending on the vicar. |
