Living in Italy, but I was born and bred in Leicestershire,
and I have the Welford Road burial disc, which goes up
to 1951.

Unfortunately there's no-one called Lynam or similar
listed on it, so she must be buried in a different cemetery.

No sign of Eliza Wollaston either.

What was her name, Gwyn? We could check in the Welford Road cemetery records to see who she's buried with.

Greeting’s again. …. Gwyn.

Mary O’ Italy is correct in that the Leicester Royal Infirmary
is close at hand to Harrow Road……..
But there was another one in the next road that being
Westcotes Maternity Hospital… ( Westcotes Drive)
And behind this Hospital was the Wyggeston Hospital on the Hinckley Road
Although this was just Flats occupied by elderly persons, which was originally the Workhouse which was at the top of the Guildhall Lane. and demolished in 1876 and moved to it’s present position.

So you now have several choices to go at……

MIKE.

Thanks Mary, I have managed to see a photo of one of the houses to let for students in Harrow Rd. they are quite big houses 6 bedrooms!
I imagined Harrow Rd was a quiet little street, but it seems it is a long busy rd.they are nice houses though.
The family always said she was a matron but on the death cert it stated she was a nurse, so the family were wrong.Gt aunt Beatrice was always a mystery and I think she will remain a mystery as well. She only came home a few times to Wales afterwards.

Gwyn, you'll find it on Google maps.

I think the nearest hospital would be the Leicester Royal Infirmary, but I'm sure Mike will correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks Mike. I could not get Harrow Rd when I googled it, I will try and google Narborough Rd.

Is there a hospital in the area as she was a nurse and I am trying to find out where she worked.this of course was before 1935.
I was surprised her son was not the informant on the death cert it was a Eliza Wollaston perhaps they lived together, perhaps she was a nurse also.
I thought this cert would give me answers instead it has given me more questions!
Anyway thanks Mike

Greeting’s again Gwyn……

Harrow Road runs from Fosse Road down to Narborough Road
It’s one way from Narborough Road to the junction of Browning Street.
The “ Eld “ Pentecostal Church stands on the corner of Narborough Road

No. 13. will be on your right hand side just in from Narborough Road.
These are Palisade Terrace type houses with bay windows.

According to my A-Z Harrow Road still exists. It's actually relatively close to the present De Montfort University campus, just on the opposite side of the River Soar.
