need help about divorces

as they are now both dead how do I find this out and do I just get intouch with the county court clerks office it will probably be leigh as that is where they lived.
thanks for your help just wish I new the date of the divorce

The records for their divorce will be at the county court where the divorce was granted

how would I go about find divorce papers for my parents I'm not sure of the date of the date of the divorce.
they married on june 26th 1954 and were married for 26/27 yrs as I was already married my self thats why I'm not sure of the year. they were together when i had my daughter in 1981 and my father moved into his own flat in december 1983 they had lived separetly in the same house until the divorce.
names john halsall dob 3/11/1931
mary doreen hession dob 26/1/1934
could anyone help me and tell me I begin looking.
