Just wanted to give you this fantastic website: www.alangodfreymaps.co.uk - I ordered 2 maps on Wednesday and received them on Thursday they cost £2.25 each and are worth every penny and more - they are very detailed mine are dated 1844 and 1848- I have already highlighted approximately 8 streets where my ancestors lived. |

The best thing about the old OS maps is the lists of buinesses on the back. I found a coffee shop being run by my great, great, great grandfather in Bethnal Green Road listed on the back of the OS map for the area... very interesting and useful. |

I have used this site in the past for the Durham area. As this is where my nan originates from she was really interested in seeing them and also told me about the area. |

I have also bought maps from this site. I have checked the address of ancestors found where they lived on the map then the nearby churches and it makes them all seem a bit more real rather than just names on paper. Regards Irene |

Yes, I've used these maps a lot. Local libraries usually have some in stock, too, if you want to have a look before buying. |
