I was assuming she didnt contact you through genes.
If she did then just click on reply and send her an email this will establish the contact with you in your contacts list

Ask her when she was born...and where?

How did she find you?

If she's on GR......get her to click on your name and send you a message............

I would reply to her email asking her what her name is on the boards and maybe she could post a thread on general that would enable you to contact her through genes

I have tried the quick search at the top of the page without success.

No Reg I don't know when or where she was born.

Her emails she signs off with what I would think is a variation of her exact name and have tried every spelling I can think of.

She is new to this and I'm not exactly good at this so I'm afraid it's the blind leading the blind.

Assuming she has posted her maiden name on the site, go to 'search trees', and enter the name.......look for results where the tree owner's first name is the same..........then click on 'send message' to contact her, and find out if it's the same person.

Presumably you know where and when she was born??

Only thing I can think of is, put her name into the search box at the top of the page and see if the search results come up with anything.

Have you tried putting her name into the 'Quick search' boxes at the top?

It would bring up all the people who have a person of that name on their tree. (Put her maiden name in) then those people with the same first name as her - click on the 'Send Message' button. It tends to show women by their married name - so double check with the info she has given you and then only message the one who matches.

I have been contacted by someone to my email address who has told me she has her family tree on G.R. She has told me her maiden and maried names. Can someone give me step by step instructions on how to tract her down on GR please.
