Thanks David, having the correct name I googled and found one article which said that it was at one time the site of the gasworks, but as Shiela rightly says it appears to have been redeveloped now with lots of property for sale.
I am just glad to know where it was exactly

Thanks to you all for replying Ronnie

My 1967 streetmap shows Prusom Street, off Wapping Lane, next to Cinnamon St. Still there on Streetmap.co.uk.
Unfortunately I don't have that sheet of the old OS maps (http://www.alangodfreymaps.co.uk/bermondsey.htm)
It should be on sheet 77 but might go onto sheet 78.

Thanks alot for the info. It does come after High Street and before Cinnamon St in the census, so that fits well. By 1871 the family is at a Cinnamon Street address. Great!

Thanks again Ronnie

I am looking at 1861 census for William Warn.
RG9/283 District 9. Page 18.

William and wife Mary Ann are living at what looks like Prusomes Island Wapping, but I cannot make it out properly and have looked at maps but nothing obvious . It was near Cinnamon Street. Has anyone any ideas? Thanks alot Ronnie
