Yesterday I just found my ggggg grandfather Thomas Ramage and one of his brothers, James were in "Register of Apprenticies in Edinburgh, 1756-1800 from Ancestry.com Library.

Where can I find a copy of an image of their apprenticies?

Regards, Steven.

Have you had a look at the National Archives of Scotland website

Or this one
http://www.scotsfind.org/

Hi Glitter Baby, thanks for your message.

Yes I have checked it in the www.scotsfind.org so there are no Thomas or James.

Also I have looked at the National Archives of Scotland website. It seems that they don’t have a register of apprenticies.

Regards, Steven.

Greeting’s Steven…….

I’m not sure if it’s the same in Scotland as in England.

But the Local Records Office
which covers the Town in which your people were apprentices
Might have the Indentures on Microfilm./ CD's
I know that the Leicestershire Records Office has
So this could well be your line of inquiry ?

MIKE.

Steven,

There is mention of Thomas and James Ramage , sons of Peter, on the scotsfind site.

Are they not the right family?

Maureen

Hi Mike, thanks for your message. I will try to find out about microfilms Local Records office.

Hi Maureen, thanks for telling me. I missed it out when I searched "Ramage" and nothing to find. Yes it is the right family. So it is same with Ancestry.com. I need to find an image that I like to see it.

Regards, Steven.

Hi Joan, thanks for your message. It is really interested.

I am trying to find a copy of original documents from "Register of Apprenticies". I like to see handwritings on documents; also it will tell that is proof.

You are really lucky to have the original document. For me, I know that it is impossible to find original documents.

Regards, Steven.
