Hi there, folks
Just thought of something, other than the war records, much of which is missing, is there any other way of knowing if a soilder was held as a prisoner of war. He died during the war.
thanks

On the documentsonline site there are some interviews with WW1 prisoners of war, although it's not complete.

thanks for that Ann,
Jut when you get told something in the family, you have to check it out, because they often get things wrong or things get changed.
Thank you

Have a look at the service record, if available or medal card or pension records, they sometimes say if the person was aPOW in WW1 also where the person was held, have found a friend's ancestor that way.
