hi there Roy,
Yes that is the one. They moved to Hunslet and he joined whilst there, unfortunately he died in the first world war. Is that all the information i would need to ask for a marriage certificate, would love to know her parents name and where they came from.
Thank you very much.

It's on FreeBMD. You have to search on Lucy Fox, not Lucy Ann Fox.

Thats where i get stuck because i don't know how they would have met, he would have been a miner possibly. Leeds is quite a way from Scholes, but we know there was some family in Leeds, don't know if she came from Scholes nr Rotherham or if she lived over there, thought he lived in Scholes and then signed up for 1st world war. Quite perplexing.
Thanks for all your help folks, don't know which way i go now. But thanks again.

I know on the 1901 census William is still living at home. so i would think that Lucy Ann is still at home too. William born 1892.
Thanks

hi there,
I knew that they had a daughter called Lucy also, knew there was possibly another child, but no idea of whether a girl or a boyl.#
I have don't quite a bit of reasearch into the wood side and have got back to 1801 in Tickhill Doncaster and then got stuck as John Wood was possibly born to a single woman called Elizabeth.
thanks
Ally.
