Hi Terry,

William Clunas (born 1868) Elgin Scotland
Ellen Lousia Clunas (1866) Born Bristol we think but this is one of the lines we are checking on any census records.
Their first child (Ellen) was not born until 1892 in Gibraltar.
William was a Gunner in the Royal Garrison Artillery.
They spent 2 -3 years there before a year in Bombay and then another 3 years in Gibraltar before returning to UK around 1900.

thanks for your help
Bob

Hi Bob

Can you please pm me with the details of the family that you want me to look up on the 91 census.

I have managed to get an appointment with the archivist tomorrow at 10am your time. Apols for the short notice.

Thanks for that Roy.

The census records are held by the Government Archives dept. I am unsure whether the 1891 census records are available for viewing, but will phone them on Tuesday to find out.

Hi Bob

There was a census carried out in 1881. I am unsure about 1891. I will find out for you after the Easter holiday.

Hi all,
I have family who were in Gibraltar (on route to India with the Army) in 1891. I presume there was a census of personnel in 1891. Am I correct?
Is it available for searching?
Thanks for your help.
