Hi,
I renewed in February, justphoned up and told them I was thinking of cancelling because of the £10 increase and they let me renew for £69.95 instead of £79.95. They just hope you can,t be bothered to ask.
Jeanette.

I got it for £63.96 about a month ago. I had cancelled my subscription because last time I paid just £55 and they wanted £79.95 which is a big difference. Anyway I called a couple of time and asked if they had any special offers and a few times they said no but then gave me it for above amount. I'd say phone them and see what they can offer you. It doesn't seem fair that people pay a different amount for the same subscription.

I rang them last year and knocked them down to £55. My sub runs out next week. I shall let it lapse for a few weeks and see if they send me a 20% offer. If not I may go through quidco.com which gives a 15% cash back for ancestry.

Thanks everyone. I remember folk were reporting they were given different amounts when they asked for discounts last year - I was just told they have upgraded the site and this accounts for PART of the increase. Will certainly try your suggestion Claire - 20% off would be even better!! Y

You could try cancelling, leave it a day or so then log back on.
Press "Upgrade" then the back button & with a bit of luck you'll get a popup offering 20% discount.

Hi, I have just had notification that my Ancestry sub is due for renewal - it has gone up by £10 to £79.95.

Have seen reports here in the past of different annual subs - has anyone got recent experience - the increase seems high to me.

Thanks Yvonne
