Lots of lost photos added

Hi All,

I’ve added lots of unidentified photos and some known old photos on:

www.lostphotos.sgrboards.org/

I do have some more photos that I’ll be adding tonight.

All the photos once belonged to my grandparents, but when they died when I was 2 they were split up between the surviving 7 children.

Since starting my family tree a year ago, I have been working on putting the photos back together by visiting my aunties and uncles and asking to scan the ones they have and I’ve presented them with the whole collection. Some of them were so old that they didn’t even know who they were, but they knew they were probably cousins or relations somehow.

I’ve managed to identify a few old photos by sending them to contacts through here, including photos of all my great grandfathers’ siblings!

I do hope to identify some more of these photos, so please keep a look out for more added over the next few days. Especially the photo of the young man with poppies around the photo as he looks like my family (last name Lewis) and we presume he died in WW1, but don’t know who he is.

Thanks

I forgot to add where my family and where the photos are likely to come from:

Lewis – St Albans, Hertfordshire
Tilley – Loughborough, Leicestershire

My gt grandfather David Lewis moved to Leicester in the early 1900s, but it’s likely that some of the photos originate from St Albans as we know we had family there until at least the 1970s.

Thanks,

Thanks Dizzi,

Much appreciated. Like I said, I know that most if not all are related to me, it's just that my grandparents both died quite young and their parents either died before my aunties and uncles were born or when they were very small so even they don’t know some of their immediate family.

Thanks again,

Vicky X
